Lou Williams-  Head Swim Coach 

Coach Lou is a father of three who resides in the Souderton Area School District with his wife Lauren and children Finlee, Emerson and Olive. He hails from Harrisburg, PA and is a product of Central Dauphin East High School and Bloomsburg University, where he was a four-year member and senior year captain of the Huskies' men’s soccer team. The son of a collegiate-level swimmer; athletic endeavors and coaching were a part of Coach Lou’s life from a very early age. He was an active member of the West Shore YMCA swimming team where he was a multi-year YMCA National qualifier before focusing his attention on soccer late in his high school career. While attending Bloomsburg University he was a staff coach for the nationally recognized Bloomsburg Area YMCA swimming team (1998-2001). After moving to the Bucks/Montgomery County area in 2002, Coach Lou spent a number of years pursuing a career as a sports writer; working for both the Intelligencer in Doylestown as well as Montgomery Newspapers in Fort Washington. Most recently, Coach Lou has made a commitment to coaching, an activity which he finds fulfilling and allows him to play a more active role in the lives of his children. He spent a year as the Youth Sports Director and three seasons as the head swimming coach at the Ambler Area YMCA before taking over head coaching responsibilities for the Souderton Dolphins, SACAC Seahawks and Souderton Area High School Swimming and diving teams. Coach Lou is a competition-level CrossFit athlete, a CF-L2 trainer, holds current USA Swimming coaches' credentials, is a two-time Middle Atlantic Zone team coach and holds a position the Middle Atlantic LSC's Age Group steering committee.  


Wendy Hedrick- Head Diving Coach

Hi! My name is Wendy Hedrick and I am the Souderton Aquatic’s dive coach. My experience in diving started at the age of seven. I spent my life at the pool and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I was a diver on the Souderton Aquatic Club in the winter and in the summer I was on the Harleysville Swim Team. When I reached Souderton high school I continued to dive on the high school team and following that into college. My career as a diver stretched over 13 years! I have had the opportunity over the years to coach for Pennridge, Souderton Aquatic, Souderton School District, and Harleysville Swim Team. I am a busy mom of three girls and I am also a Human Resource Manager full time for CMI. Some say I am crazy because I am also in school full time! I enjoy working with children of all ages and to see their smiling faces on the pool deck every night makes me proud to be a part of something so special. 


 Patty Burns - Assistant Swim Coach

Coach Patty began swimming at the age of six for the Skippack swim team and continued competing into high school at Perkiomen Valley. She then swam for four years at Bloomsburg University where she competed and placed in the top six at the NCAA championships in the 100 and 200 butterfly. After graduating, she taught 5th and 6th grade for seven years and then decided to stay home to raise her two daughters.  Since then, she returned to swimming by teaching lessons at the YMCA and assisting with coaching the summer and winter Souderton swim teams for the past 3 years.  This fall she will be inducted into the Bloomsburg Athletic Hall of Fame.


 Amanda Goldcamp- Assistant Swim Coach

Coach Amanda started swimming at age 5 to 18 for Harleysville Swim Team. Since Souderton High School didn't have a pool yet complete. I winter swam for North Penn YMCA,  then Perkiomen Valley for a few years. However, I was part of the original Seahawk team that was started in 1989-1990, so from 5th grade to high school I swam on the Seahawks. In high school I was part of team of Souderton Girls High School team that placed overall third in the state. I then swam for Elizabethtown College. My favorite event was the 1650(mile) and placed first at the 1650 MAC Championships where I helped the women's take the MAC Champions.  I started my coaching career at age 15 for the Harleysville Swim Team for around ten years. I did help out coaching the Seahawks a few seasons as well at Souderton Boys High School team for one season. I then took a little break to get married and have my three children; Morgan 10, Avery 9, and Henry 6. I have been also teaching 3rd grade at Quakertown Elementary for the past 19 years. I also coach the Harleysville Swim Team in the summer. 


 Rich Smith- Assistant Swim Coach

Coach Rich grew up in Cranford, New Jersey.  He started age group swimming at age ten and swam for Cranford Aquatics Club, Cranford Swim Club and Cranford High School.  He attended Ursinus College where he competed for four years in NCAA Division III.  He was a USLA certified Open Water Lifeguard in NJ for 11 years, continuing to compete in lifeguard competitions while eventually becoming the Captain of the Normandy Beach Beach Patrol. 

Coach Rich’s coaching background includes  two years as Head Boys Swimming Coach of Christiana High School in Delaware, six years of Soccer with the Harleysville Football Club and 6 years with SACAC.  He currently coaches Stroke and Turn clinics and Spring Training at Souderton High School.   Coach Rich continues to swim regularly, competing in open water swims.


Heather MooreAssistant Swim Coach

Coach Heather Moore began swimming outdoor for Souderton at the age of 7.  She continued to swim and play water polo for Souderton High School until she was recruited to attend the University of Maryland College Park on a Division 1 swimming scholarship.  Her main events were 100 fly and 100 back.  After college Heather stayed in Maryland and obtained her doctorate in Physical Therapy. 

Coach Heather owns Total Performance Physical Therapy where her focus is working on high school, collegiate, Olympic and professional athletes.  Coach Heather has worked on the PGA and LPGA tours and is member of the United States Olympic Sports Medicine Team where she spends time in Colorado Springs getting Olympic athletes ready for competition. 

Coach Heather started coaching Souderton outdoor swim team when she was 15.  She took breaks to attend college, receive her doctorate and have children.  She recently started coaching again as her daughters, Aubrie and Addison, swim year round and her son, CJ, who is a wrestler, swims in the summer. 


Jim DruckenmillerAssistant Swim Coach

Jim is new to the coaching staff this year, but is in his second year as a SACAC parent. Jim started competitive swimming at age six and competed for 12 seasons with Phoenixville Area YMCA Blue Wave winter swim team. For summer league, he swam 12 seasons for Nine Oaks Swim Club in Royersford, PA. Jim was also assistant coach for the Nine Oaks Swim Club from 1999-2004. In high school, Jim was a district qualifier for Spring-Ford Area HS, though trained at PAY since Spring-Ford did not offer a swim team at the time. After graduating high school, Jim swam four years for Dickinson College, an NCAA Division III program. He was men's team captain during his junior and senior years. While at Dickinson, Jim specialized in 100 & 200 Butterfly and Breaststroke and 200 IM. He continues to swim as an unattached US Masters swimmer and swims at Upper Perk YMCA. He's passionate about helping young swimmers develop a lifelong love for the sport by growing skills and having fun! For his day job, Jim works in sales for a software technology company.


Brandon Walker- Assistant Swim Coach

Coach Brandon began swimming in 1986 at age 10 for Souderton Community Pool.  He was a member of the inaugural SACAC team in 1989.   In High School, he swam for Souderton and was a team captain his senior year.  He qualified for PIAA State Champs in the 100 Breaststroke his Jr and Sr year.  He also enjoyed competing on the Souderton High School Water Polo team and was an All State Goalie.  He went on to play Division 1 Collegiate Water Polo at Slippery Rock University and also swam Division III for one year before transferring to Temple University to focus on Business and Finance.  He was an assistant high school water polo coach for Souderton and taught swim lessons before taking a break to get married and have a family.  He is married over 20 yrs to his beautiful wife Sara and they have three kids- Tristan, Chase and Avery.  Avery is a swimmer for the SACAC and Harleysville Swim teams.  He works for a global Insurance company for his day job.     He is excited to get back into coaching and wants to help kids reach their potential while having fun.  


Megan MalmquistAssistant Swim Coach

Megan Malmquist grew up swimming for the Souderton Dolphins and Souderton Aquatics. Now a graduate of Bloomsburg University with degrees in Special Education and Elementary Education, she is most proud of being involved in the community as a teacher and coach. She has been coaching the Souderton Dolphins since 2016 and since has had the opportunity to assist with the winter SACAC team as well as the High School team.


Megan WoodsAssistant Swim Coach

Hi,my name is Coach Megan! I started swimming at age 8 at the Upper Bucks YMCA. I then moved to Upper Perk YMCA and swam on that team until I graduated from high school.   During high school, I swam for Quakertown, being mainly a distance and backstroke swimmer. I went on to swim for Misericordia University as a freshman, but transferred to DeSales University the following year to major in Sport Management. I started lifeguarding at the age of 15 and started coaching during the winter of 2020 for Upper Perk YMCA. I joined the Souderton swim team coaching staff during the winter of 2021. Hanging out with my friends and family is a major part of my life, as well as being involved with anything sports related! I am so excited to be involved with his program!


Trish Hoak-Assistant Swimming Coach

Coach Trish rew up swimming for SACAC, Souderton Dolphins, and Souderton High School.  She swam the backstroke leg of the Souderton High School's State Champion 200 Medley Relay in 1995 and went on to complete as a Division 1 swimmer for LaSalle University.  Trish is currently married to her husband Rob and works full time as an auditor for the US Government.

Lauren Bruzek- Assistant Swimming Coach

I started swimming when I was 6 years old. I swam for Harleysville in the summers and SACAC in the winters.  I was a part of the first SACAC team, along with several of the other coaches, when the pool at the old high school was first built! I swam for Souderton High School, where I was a breaststroker, graduating in 1998. I coached in the summers at Harleysville throughout high school and college, and most recently again this past summer. While I spent the majority of my childhood in or around a pool, I chose to hang up my goggles in college and played field hockey at Bucknell University and just this past fall was inducted into the Bucknell Athletics Hall of Fame. I absolutely love sports, the lessons that they teach us, the opportunities they give us to compete, and the combined work and effort of a team. Outside of sports, My husband Brian and I stay busy with our two awesome children, Tyler and Austin, ages 14 and 12. We spend a lot of time watching them compete on soccer fields, in basketball gyms and at pools.  We love to take vacations, play wiffle ball after dinner, go to the beach and watch football together on fall Sundays. 


Maddie Olberding-Assistant Swimming Coach

Hi my name is Maddie. My first time coaching was this summer and i really enjoyed it! Both my sisters and mom were swimmers. I have been swimming since I was 5; on the community, high school, and USA team. I hope to have a good winter swim season!

Matthew Meehan-Assistant Diving Coach

I have been a diver for 11 years and this is my first official year coaching. My brother and sister were both swimmers and I have been around water sports my whole life. I Was on the souderton high school dive team and I was also on the SACAC team for 5 years.
